Yeah, funny that: you murder someone, and they treat you like a criminal! I thought this was America! It's those damn Democrats and Obama!

I would really love to know how many pro-Lifers are also pro-capital punishment. I'm not in favor of abortion, but I am in favor of proper sex education, not just this abstinence-only crap. Teach proper birth control, make it available, and you'll see a reduction in abortions.

Well, if the numbers on torture are true, there are a lot of "pro-Lifers" that also belive completely in the idea of capital punishment.

Okay, try this: I am pro-life, and I reluctantly admit that capital punishment may be necessary.

IF:
—the person is a continuing danger to society, even in jail. Ted Bundy demonstrably was; Ted Kazcynski is not.
—the person is found guilty by more-than-reasonable doubt, through proper state agencies, with all of the best methods known to modern science.
—the person is demonstrably not going to get better through incarceration, i.e. certain forms of mental sociopathy, for which we currently have no real treatment. "You can only shoot a rabid dog."

I also think it's a bad idea to take the possibility off the table.

HOWEVER, I think that it is currently overused and not done appropriately. And therefore, I'd prefer to leave it in the criminal code but not use it, if that makes sense.

And incidentally, Scott Roeder is a murderer. Period. End of story. I find abortion horrifying and wrong but that does not make killing its providers right OR a good idea.

I think very few people are "in favor" of abortion, I think you are confusing being in favor of keeping it legal with being in favor of the procedure itself. These are two very different things.
