Lack of marital bliss
Sep. 15th, 2005 11:28 amRusset left Ohio Monday, spent the night in Chicago with a former college roomie (her maid of honor at our wedding), went on to Omaha and spent the night Tuesday with the wife of the guy who photographed our wedding (Terry was off to the Reno Air Races, Deb stayed home), and had planned to be home around 9-10am today.
Before we were married and she would be driving to Phoenix through the night, I tended not to sleep well. Part anticipation of her arrival, part concern of her arriving safely. Last night proved that this continues past marriage. I went to bed about 2am, not unusual, but woke up at 5. Couldn't get back to sleep, finally got up and did the dishes that I didn't get to last night, putzed on my PC, got back to bed about 7.
Russ called about 9ish. She threw up last night after dinner and didn't entirely make it out of the car before it happened. The car's a mess, she's a mess, she feels like hell, etc. So she's planning on finding a shaded place to get a few hours sleep before coming home. She's not far away, at that time she was about an hour in Colorado from the NM border, so she's only 5 or 6 hours from home. But I hope she gets a lot of rest. I've been very fortunate in my travels to not get sick like that on the road, but I can imagine how horrible she feels.
At least she'll be here when I get home tonight from school.
And then I leave for Phoenix tomorrow morning for the weekend.
Sigh.
