I have a niece, I think she's going in to the 6th or 7th grade, who has to have a TV on. Doesn't matter if she's in front of the TV, it's going to be on. And usually it was on Nik and Spongebob. So yeah, I've been exposed to a lot.
I wouldn't go as far as saying there's no plot, but it's one oriented to 5 year olds. I've never noticed anything resembling a plot in something like the Teletubbies, probably because it's non-verbal or seems to be, can't say that I've ever gone out of my way to watch it, just casual 'walking through the room' observation.
The last time I was too sick to move was when I had a series of 4 pneumonias, spent a lot of time with Pinky and the Brain on DVD. That was pretty cool.
