My brother-in-law, stationed in Afghanistan, was supposed to be home for the holidaze. I believe he was supposed to be home by now or arriving soon. Just got word that he's in a hospital in Germany with a ruptured appendix.

Sigh.

Odds are good for recovery normally for such things, but people still die from them. Hopefully he'll be home for Christmas.

Any surgery has its dangers and should never be taken lightly. But given all the other reasons why being stationed in Afghanistan could lead to one being placed in a hospital, I'm sure that a ruptured appendix is one of the less dangerous reasons.

I hope that he'll recover soon, and I'm glad that it's not something more serious.

Unfortunately, this means that he'll miss the WWE's Christmas tour of Afghanistan this year. I'm sure he's just crushed about that. :-)
