Dime-Bag Joe wants to be Maricopa County Sheriff again

Yep, former sheriff Joe Arpaio, at age 8792, wants to run for Sheriff again. He's got - currently! - four opponents in the primary. And the democrat who kicked him out of office in '16 is running again.

He was called Dime-Bag Joe when he was in the DEA, a time that he brags about, because he went around making lots of small busts, while the others in his unit were conducting deep investigations wrapping up entire networks. He was not well-respected. But in doing so, his record showed a lot of arrests.

EDIT:Arpaio is 87. He'll be 88 if elected, and 92 at the end of his 4-year term. I don't know where I got the number that he's currently 92.

Yeah. This is not a guy you want running any part of your government ever again.

I don't think Maricopa County ever disclosed how much he cost them in legal fees and settlements for the various civil rights violations that he and his people perpetrated.

I tried convincing my parents not to vote for him, but they voted for him time and again.

There are many micro-rifts on political/religious grounds between my parents and I, fortunately nothing major.

That person has done more than enough damage that he should never be near any sort of power at all. In this environmnent, though, I wouldn't be surprised if plenty of voters want him because of what he did.
