RIP: Larry Tesler, 74. The man invented Copy, Cut, and Paste!

Larry was a Stanford graduate and in 1973 he was working for Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, also known as the birthplace of the modern graphic user interface and mouse. It was there that he was working with a group of people on a word processor called Gypsy that he developed those three very critical key combinations that I use daily.

We all owe that guy and the people he worked with an awful lot, for good and ill, I suspect...

More good than ill, IMO. They were too altruistic and not wanting to believe in the evil in too many people and made the internet too permissive and trusting. IMHO. And the rectal haberdashers have made a mess of it all.
