Interesting how three of them are the same length, and the two Russian names are the same length. Coincidence, OR NOT?! It's not as visible in a proportional display font, but in a mono font they are. Trust me, he says....

It's interesting that most of these people are either in the news business or chess players. I didn't even think about news anchors being celebrities though (I guess they are local celebrities)

Or famous in one sort or another.  Journalists certainly can make the news, such as Dan Rather's faux paus that cost him his job with CBS a few years ago.

I think you admired Leslie Nielson for years, but never actually met him.

It is definitely interesting that Leslie Nielson was a major leading man and serious dramatic actor before becoming a comic actor with the Naked Gun series.

I'm inclined to say that Kronkite is the ringer on this one, but I can't really articulate the reasons why.

I remember really enjoying the gravitas that he leant the news when he was the news reader for CBS Evening News. None of the other Big Three were worth watching while he was on the air. I wish I had memories of him covering the Apollo launches, but I was only 8 or 9 at the time.
