Do people fail to see the irony as it flies out of their mouth? How would they feel if it were a Muslim, Jew, Jehovah's Witness, or Mormon saying this? How do they feel about the Supreme Court being majority Catholic? Or if the Supreme Court were majority Muslim?

There should be NO influence of government in religion and religion in government. Full stop.

Also why the American construction of free speech is a problem; it says there's nothing out of bounds for political activity, including decisions to enslave everybody who isn't a member of thus-and-such church on a specific date.

I laugh my ass off every time I hear somebody complain about Muslim ruled nations out of one side of their mouths and then say that the States of America is a Christian nation.

When you look at what Sharia Law wants, and some of the rules that some of the "Christian" churches want, it's kind of hard to see what the differences are.

There should not be, but there already is, intense amounts of it, and most of it predicated on the idea that there is only one true religion and it should have power and dominion over everything else. They don't acknowledge the possibility that someone else could ever be in charge because of that happens, they'll just invalidate the method used by whatever means will work and continue ruling like it didn't happen. Nobody censured Mitch and told him his idea of holding open a seat until his preferred president could from it could take a long walk off a short pier, or that his insistence on filibustering anything without actual reasons to do so were out of order, so now we have this kind of scenario, where the government is actively working toward making sure no person who isn't a fascist can get elected ever again.
