The Village People's In The Navy

In Lord of the Rings Online, I have four music performances in October as of right now. Not counting any rehearsals or spur of the moment playing that I might bring the band out for, you never know. One is a Halloween event, and I really want to do custom lyrics to In The Navy: I realized that the phrase "Urak Hai Yo!" parses quite nicely with it, I just have to get the words re-written.

So I dug into YouTube and found the original video. And looking for a video with lyrics, I found something...

Quite interesting. And it's Making Of video.

Unfortunately The Village People apparently don't like people sharing their music videos. It is a fun watch. The second vide, the pin up version, uses the original music.

That, also, would have been all sorts of awesome.  But for that, we have the sailor dance hall segment of Hail, Caesar! :-)  If that's not an amazing segment, I don't know what is!

The "Making Of" clip suggests that "In The Navy" wasn't the original soundtrack to the choreography, so good on the audio engineer that was able to sync it to an entirely new track if that was the case. Or to any other audio engineers who can make this video clip work with some other audio underneath.

It does have sort of a swing vibe, which In The Navy decidedly has not.  But maybe it's the makeup and lighting that's imparting that to me.
