Nov. 24th, 2022 11:34 amAt least for me.
I've won SO MANY Samsung OLED TVs from Costco that there is absolutely no room left in my house! I think I'm going to start turning them in to furniture. I may have to hire a courier service to make a daily run down to El Paso to collect them.
For those of you who bother with this strange American tradition that so few understand the truth reality of the story behind it.
We were supposed to go to the observatory, but it has just begun to snow and it's projected to be +6" and to continue thru midnight Friday, so we may be home bodies. I bought a 3 lb turkey "roast", and we have all sorts of other goodies, so it's not like we'll go hungry.

Date: 2022-11-28 10:03 pm (UTC)It's kind of funny. I was president of a film club for 25some years, you'd think I'd have a monster 5K screen. We have a little 39" 1080p and it's quite nice and adequate. It fits the space in our built-in entertainment center which was designed for a vacuum-tube TV. It would take some work with a saw and a lot of construction to go bigger, basically would need to tear everything out and build in new furniture, not an appealing thought.
What I do have is very good sound. I bought a new Sony A/V receiver when in Phoenix a couple of months ago, driving a pair of B&W speakers. Really good sound! Simply excellent clarity. That is important to me with my hearing loss.
