RIP: Lisa Marie Presley, 54

I read about it this afternoon, but she hadn't died yet. She was found collapsed with no pulse at her home by a maid, IIRC. Paramedics were called and were able to revive her and get her to hospital, but apparently it was only a temporary reprieve.

Lisa was the only child of Elvis and Priscilla, born nine months after they married. She released three albums, the first of which went gold. She was married and divorced four times, the second and third marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage. In addition to tumultuous marriages, her son from her first marriage took his life in 2020 when he was 27.

Quite the rollercoaster.

Pretty sad. She seems to have had a pretty turbulent life from appearances.

A lot of it self inflicted, Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage? EEK......

Celebrities and celebrity marriages, what can you say.  A couple of years ago, for no particular reason, I looked up a bunch of old country western performers from the '60s in Wikipedia, I was curious about their marriage history.  And pretty much as a one, multiple divorces and marriages.  Except one stood out: Roy Clark, co-host of Hee Haw with Buck Owens (multiple marriages).  Married once.  Roy's marriage lasted 61 years until truly death did they part.

A while back, I looked up all the top Repub politicians and almost all of them had multiple marriages.
So much for saving the sanctity of marriage. :o
