Return to Fawlty Towers?!!!

John Cleese and his daughter Camilla are working on a return to Fawlty Towers! The concept is Basil's daughter is running a boutique hotel and (is silly enough to) brings in her father to help run it.

What could possibly go wrong?

ROB REINER is involved in the production, so tremendous potential is seen. Reiner is also involved in making a sequel to This Is Spinal Tap!

Lots of good stuff! No information on when or where the currently non-existent series will stream.

Yeah, it's definitely a binary proposition IMO.  John has been increasingly outspoken about censoring people, a lot of which I can agree with.  It'll be interesting to see.  I'm hoping to rewatch the original series soon to see how it holds up.  I do remember that I found Basil to be a cringeworthy character who was sometimes hard to take, I'm not sure how much I'll like it these days.  It wasn't always entirely his fault that life was conspiring against him, but he pretty much never made it better with his actions.

Tangentially related, did you see that Mel Brooks is finally coming up with a History of the World Part II? Coming as a TV series, I forget where.

Along with Basil Fawlty, it will be interesting to see how the reprises work in these times vs. their original runs.

Wow, it is SO great to hear that Mel is still working!  I hope he's able to complete the movie, the dude is like 95!  I picked up his autobiography a couple of years ago, I believe the title is It's All About Me!, and it was a fantastic book.
