A true music - and Canadian! - legend. He passed Monday night in hospital, no cause specified.

He will most certainly be missed.

OH dear.Just about the best-known canadian except for Celine Dion. A wonderful poet and songwriter. There's got to be a hootenanny (folk-singer's festival) in the afterlife tonight, with Harry Belafonte and Gordon Lightfoot.

Yes, what a loss, he was masterful.

While I primarily knew him for his most famous work, it is sad to see such a talented songwriter and singer no longer with us.

I was only familiar with his works that topped the charts here.  But he certainly was a legend!
