Disney realizes there is money to be made releasing streaming content on physical media!

Disney announces Loki, Wandavision, Mandelorian to be released on home media! These are going to be 4K UHD metal boxes, which I expect will translate to 'not cheap'. Allegedly you can play 4K Blurays on non-4K players, you just won't get the full resolution.

From the article: Loki season 1, WandaVision, and The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 will release physically on September 26, November 28, and December 12, respectively."

I definitely want Loki, ambivalent about Wanda and Mando.

I've never bought a metal 4K UHD before, no idea how tightly they're crammed in.

I know at least one person who will be very happy to hear this news. They'll definitely want to see Loki and maybe also WandaVision.

WandaVision didn't do much for me personally.  Very much enjoyed Loki.  My spousal unit enjoyed WV.

Hoping for regular DVDs at some point. Those would serve me just fine.

BR players are at or under $100 for name brands and play DVDs just fine.  I can't vouch for the price of 4K players, but as I said, apparently standard non-4K BR players will play 4K BRs.

I wouldn't hold my breath, the trend is definitely towards BR, which makes it a bit hard for libraries as we prefer lowest common denominator for media.

Hoping maybe they'll be releasing on DVD, too. But I did perk at the aside in there that Prey is going to get a physical release. Yussssss!

And I just bought a 4K dvd player to go along with my new Roku tv. LOL.............

I will be cutting the cable tv leash in the next few days.
Just got a letter from them about changing services coming up.
Increasing basic internet speeds and adding 14 new tv channels.
BUT they are dropping 58 channels. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to keep the internet and for the time being the house phone, but sadly I am letting go of the cable tv. :( The one channel that I really want, TCM, is one of the 58 they are dumping. :o :o :o

TCM is a great channel, pity with all the mergers and management changes the people there are at risk.

I am thinking about ordering MGM+.
Just don't know what their library is like.
I tried looking for it, but didn't have much luck.

Yeah, that's one of the problems with streaming services, it's pretty much impossible to find out what's on offer without subscribing!

A whole lotta crap.
Don't know if they don't have access to MGM's library, but I didn't see much of that. :(
Now is it worth $50 for a year? UGH.........
