RIP: Gary Wright, "Dream Weaver"

Gary was 80 and had been suffering from Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia for several years. Pretty rough stuff. Lewy is what Robin Williams had.

Gary formed the band Spooky Tooth, was a friend and collaborator with George Harrison and played keyboards on one of his albums. He also wrote the song Love Is Alive. Perhaps most notably, he is credited with recording the first entirely synth album in 1975 that enjoyed broad success, The Dream Weaver.

yeah. a lot of deaths recently even here in the music industry. Meanwhile, when I think of Dreamweaver, this comes to mind ;)

That's several people who were on the radio during my younger times and when the parents controlled the dial at this point. Time marches on, but sometimes it reminds us about the stop at the end.

My parents always listened to C&W, it wasn't until I got my own radio and later stereo that I could listen to rock and appreciate artists like Gary Wright.
