Oh, the irony!

Fox perpetuated and spread the lies to increase viewership, and now stockholders representing pension plans for New York City and the State of Oregon are suing Fox Corp., saying that their lies and forced settlement - not to mention the additional lawsuits that they're facing - is diminishing shareholder value!

Pass the popcorn, extra butter please!

There's some satisfaction to watching FOX continue to get punched in the face repeatedly, but this is another one of those things that should highlight both the ridiculousness of "corporations are not allowed to be unprofitable" and also the ridiculousness that entities in New York and Oregon have significant investment in a corporation that peddles such nonsense. Ethics tend to go the way of the window, though, when the pension funds have to reach more ambitious targets...

I listened to a Fresh Air recently from earlier this year about Private Equity Funds, and they were talking about how the Ohio teacher's pension fund got duped into transferring their entire fund into one, then they got eaten alive in fees and such because they had no one on their board who was an actuary or sufficiently savvy in the true economics of such.  Wall Street is - largely speaking - truly an evil place.
