Ivanka on the stand torches Donald's claim to wealth

While on the stand, UNDER OATH, Ivanka stated that Donald guaranteed that he alone could repay the Deutschebank loan, meanwhile he "entered into an agreement with each of his three adult children, whereby they pledged assets of their own to help him satisfy the guarantee, which, according to his contract with Deutsche Bank, was supposed to be his and his alone."

So Donnie wasn't the billionaire that he claimed to be? Color me shocked!

In other news, a couple of decades back when he wanted to buy the Buffalo Bills football team and the NFL said no? Turns out that instead of preparing a financial package that proved he had money behind him, he sent the NFL the Forbes list showing he was a billionaire.

It seems to me that it hasn't sunk in that there has already been found a guilty verdict that substantial fraud happened at the Trump Organization, headed by Donald and his get. They seem to be trying to prove their innocence, which is not an issue. The trial is to see how far the rot is, I think there are some other charges still outstanding, and to assess final damages.

One more little thing. Trump didn't put the "disclaimer clause" on the financial statements. THE ACCOUNTING FIRM DID. They knew the financial statements that they received from the Trump Org were flimsy as hell, so they put the disclaimer on the forms to try to take a step away from them.

well, i've read some sort of legal analysis the other day (on BBC, i think?) and apparently in your country a convicted person can be elected as president and then pardon himself :) at least, this is what some fancy lawyer wrote

and considering how surrealistic life now is, i won't be even shocked if this actually happens, you know!

The only qualification to be President is 35 years of age and a natural-born citizen: sadly, that's it.  So technically yes, he could run from prison.  However, the Presidential power to pardon is restricted to only Federal crimes, and he's facing multiple counts at the State-level in both Georgia and New York, so it wouldn't help him there.  Him regaining the office would help him in the soon-to-come Florida and DC cases.

I'm not that surprised that the children are willing to throw him under the bus if there's the possibility they might manage to avoid being dragged down with him. I would not be surprised at all if it turns out that he's been threatening to stop the children from getting anything from him unless they go along with his schemes.

It will be interesting to see how well his get managed to hide money overseas and if they can successfully money it back into the USA to keep their lifestyle going.  Now, His Princess is set up with Kushner, so she's set.  Assuming that the deal with the Saudi's doesn't come crashing down around THEIR ears.

Depending on whether or not the purchase of access actually results in access, that could be an issue for Jared and Ivanka. I'd like to believe the Saudis have written them off at this point, but are probably stringing them along, just in case it turns out the US is stupid enough to elect Trump again.
