thewayneJustice O'Connor, appointed by Reagan, was the first woman appointed to the SCOTUS, served for 24 years. She was a part of the decision of Bush v. Gore, among many others. An Arizona lass, her parent's ranch straddled the Arizona/New Mexico border. She was roping and riding as a kid, later earning a law degree and practicing for free just to get her foot in the door.
What a career!
She passed from complications from long-term dementia.
