"America's Mayor" Rudy Giuliani on the hook for $148,000,000 in defamation case!

He pulled a page from Trump's playbook, and like his mastermentor, defamed the women in the exact same way earlier on the court steps after having been found guilty of defamation. The jury deliberated for two days before handing down the amount of damages.

From the article: "The jury found Giuliani owes Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss and her mother Ruby Freeman $16,998,000 and $16,171,000, respectively, for defamation; $20 million a piece for emotional distress; and $75 million total in punitive damages. The payouts total over $148 million."

One thing that I did not know: the infamous Trump call to Raffensperger? Said call "...was played for the court. While the call is infamous for containing Trump’s request that Raffensperger “find” him the votes necessary to win Georgia, what’s less known is that Trump referenced Freeman 18 times during the conversation. The former president called Freeman a “professional vote scammer,” and accused her of being a “known political operative” who had “stuffed the ballot boxes.” Freeman and Moss’ attorneys pointed out that Trump’s language in the call about Freeman echoed strategic post-election messaging crafted by Giuliani’s team."

WOW.

It'll be some time before they get the money, and I expect the amount will be reduced, but still - to have your life ruined by the Trump operation, they deserve it.

Politics should not work like this, destroying innocent people.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving scumbag. Because he was mayor when the the Twin Towers were attacked, he got a reputation for being a good leader. Nope - just a political hack who got lucky, and he hooked up with Trump to keep his career afloat.

I am so fed up with politics.

Even decades ago, Rudy Giuliani was something of a bully, and I didn’t especially like him. Now, he may be suffering from brain decay, for which an old man isn’t to blame, or he may have chosen to worsen his character by a series of decisions, such as deciding to be a Trump myrmidon instead of a citizen loyal to the country and the Constitution.

He swore an oath as an officer of the court to practice law.  He chose defamation to appease his master, and his master ain't gonna pick up the tab.  It's possible he's experiencing some old-age related mental impairment, but in the end it all comes down to him.

Giuliani was seen and heard behaving drunkenly in public a number of times. I suspect he just drowned his brain cells.

I think the best mayor NYC ever had was possiblye John Lindsey, and Ed Koch was pretty damn good. And Bloomberg used his personal fortune to help the city get out of debt.

Could not have happened to a more deserving man. And then, because he continues to say that he told the truth and he has evidence, they sued him again with the hope of getting a court to tell Rudy to shut it and stop defaming the two workers.

Would also be nice if they could get defamation judgment against Trump as well, for repeating and using defamatory statements in his attempt to overturn the election.

$150 mill, $300 mill, won't matter much to take him from broke to broker.  Unless the judge can fit him with a gag order of some sort that would actually work.  It would be nice if Trumplestiltskin could be similarly sued, they've succeeded in the E. Jean Carroll case, so it could work elsewhere.  They just have to make sure to get him for statements taking place after his term ended so he has no chance of trying to yet again invoke presidential immunity.

At this point, you'd sue him for the gag other, not because you actually think you're going to see any money from him. As keeps turning up, he's not actually worth enough to get anything out of him.
