Microsoft is adding version control and 7Zip and Tar to Explorer!

FINALLY!

While integrating 7Zip file compression into Explorer was no big deal, it'll be nice to have it there from the beginning. The Tar support will also be useful. But the version control, that's going to be very useful for casual developers who don't want to mess with installing Git or similar repo controls.

About time for tar and 7zip. I wonder if this happened because they want people to use WSL, and many things for Linux are packaged in .tar and .7z files. And because a lot of people use git to do version control, especially the kind of people who might want to be developing on a laptop that interfaces with a lot of Linux systems.

Win11 still seems to be moving its way in the direction of sucking terribly, though.

I think I got two long-term problems with Win 11 resolved.  I always install Power Toys to get their wonderful rename utility.  Well, it turns out that two utility apps that come with Power Toys may have been giving me trouble!  I'd been having problems with difficulty making my machine sleep/hibernate, where frequently it would immediately wake up again after being commanded to hibernate.  Turns out that there's a PT app for forcing your machine to stay awake!  I disabled that.  And I as having a problem in Lotro where I'm using my W key to run and wanted to use my left and right arrow keys to move left and right, and I'd get accent characters for W!  Turns out another app for PT gives you helpful foreign language diacriticals.  So that's also disabled.  We'll see if it's a little tamer now that I've adjusted some stuff in Power Toys.
