Or somehow forces his way into 1600 Pennsylvania?

So much depends on which party controls the House and Senate, and there's no telling what happens there until after the votes are counted, and potentially interfered with by the various courts, up to and including the unjudicial SCOTUS.

But my expectation is this. The weird guy runs rampant for about three months. We all get to see how thoroughly he's lost it for that timeframe.

Then they roll out the 25th Amendment and start demanding he be removed from office. And we get Prez J.D. The alleged sofa banger who wears too much eye-liner. Peter Thiel's acolyte.

And they start rolling Project 2025 on us. And this is after the weird guy has had a few months to try and force through his Agenda 47, which is a whole different kettle of fish from Project 2025. Lots can be accomplished by Presidential orders, outside of Congressional bills. Of course, they can also be reversed by the next occupant of the Oval Office the exact same way.

My personal hope is that President Biden employs some of that Presidential Immunity For Official Acts that the SCOTUS has vetted. He has absolutely nothing to lose. Regardless, starting Tuesday night and probably continuing for several days, it's going to be chaotic.

This election is a referendum on democracy. Either you want democracy, or you want chaos. It doesn't matter if you don't like the idea of a woman leading the country, it doesn't matter if you feel you don't know what her policies or plans are, or you don't know enough about her. It doesn't matter if you think the President was turfed and no one voted for her in the primaries. If you want democracy to continue, vote blue all the way down the ticket. And continue to do so until the RNC gets the message and gets rid of the MAGA influences and starts showing some sanity and returns to being a party of conservative ideas. I'm not saying the Dems are perfect, far from it. But they're not trying to institute a narcissistic fascist to lead the country.

I like to say that He will not be elected.
He may get appointed by the Electoral College, but he won't be elected. :o

I have also been telling people about this possible situation with Vance.
I think he is much more scary then Orange.
Eyeliner is politically scary and Orange is mentally scary.
If that makes sense.
Hugs, Jon

Either way there is going to be unrest. Looking forward, if Trump and cronies win, I could see an eventual civil war.

I don't think they have to set very hard for that crowd.
I can't imagine living a life nothing but conspiracy thoughts.
There really is a reality out here folks. :o

A Republican administration can do all sorts of damage by themselves, and of they have a Congress to help, it'll get even worse.

And they'll make sure that they can all retire and put the young ones in charge as well. They want generational control and don't particularly care how they get it.

So, yeah, it's a "lesser of two evils" situation, which rarely produces good candidates or good policies.

Well said. Have nothing to add, except that I'm a bit scared that the Felon will win, and possibly bring the House and Senate with him. Regardless, the next time I vote for Republican, is when every current, cowardly one of them is out of office, and dead, and buried.

My state now has an open primary for those not enrolled in either party. It grieved me to request an R ballot in the primary, except for the consolation that it enabled me to vote against Orange Face in said primary, not that it helped. So, when I early voted last month, it was the fourth time I voted against the Orange Faced fascist-wannabe. Both my grandfathers fought against/hunted fascists. Both must be rolling in their graves over one of our two major parties turning to fascism. (sigh)

We have ranked-choice here in Maine, but with the current options it's worthless. Maybe some day if there are more than two viable options, but not at the moment.

So, I do think that it is possible that the Rs are planning on using the 25th amendment. But they might also be planning on running TFG as a puppet, and honestly TFG might go along with it if they give him enough goodies. But I also think that invoking the 25th amendment would not go as smoothly as they might expect, since TFG's base is entirely conspiracy-minded, and I cannot imagine how one would convince them that this wasn't a coup. The sole virtue the worst of those people have is that they are disorganized and incapable of solidarity with each other.

I’m voting for Harris. I would not do so if Jeff Flake or the ghost of Jack Kemp were the Republican candidate, but that is not the world we now live in.
