My brain is in a strange place today

Not feeling good, and my brain is having a field day.

I'm reading my ebook sales newsletters and came across the following description: "...A police officer, a sharpshooter, and a Marine band together to survive in this high-octane series starter..."

So you've got the cop and the sharpshooter driving down the road in a beat-up Trans Am, followed by a bus of Marine musicians performing Sousa....

This is honestly how my brain initially interpreted that blurb. I really need to re-re-re-watch Police Squad and the Naked Gun movies.

Your brain and mine, both on pretty much the same track. Warm weather, wind and LOTS of whatever I'm allergic to. It has pretty much shut me down. MORE water!!

I so wish for more water!  We're at #4 of 5 on the fire danger scale, our winter was so pitiful snow-wise that we're in for a terrifying fire season.

I have much sympathy, things got pretty bad here by 2021. Of course there was no grass that year either, but that doesn't help when everything is tinder dry like you are. At least this year we did have a good rain year; it just stopped at the end of March leaving head high grass; but lots of moisture in the trees and shrubs. I'm trying to be really serious about clearing way, way back around the house, making sure there really is 5 feet of bare dirt around the house (not there yet, but getting there).

Funny stuff!  As it happens, I've been shooting Canon since about 1990.  All of my camera gear needed service, dumped it all and bought an Eos body and lens and have been shooting it ever since.

I think going through the oeuvre of Police Squad! Would be an excellent idea. The blurb there is pretty word salad.

I love those movies and Police Squad! I wish Police Squad was streaming somewhere. I have it on DVD but with various tech changes watching a DVD has become a somewhat Byzantine process that deters me from physical media.

...I do not think that I have particularly high hopes for the Naked Gun remake with Liam Neeson, but I will probably watch it anyway.

One of the problems that I have with the Liam Neeson remake of Naked Gun is that in the originals, the violence was usually accidental - as I remember it.  He succeeded in spit of himself, sort of in a Jacque Clouseau way.  The remake seems to be much more into the violence and to me appears to be lacking the self-deprecating/dead-pan humor.  Perhaps future trailers will sway me.  Neeson does have a good look for the role, I will freely admit.
