Last week Russet was in Phoenix. She lost her wedding ring. Or at least it is believed lost, we haven't yet excavated her car. She was putting on sun block lotion before crossing the desert to LA and apparently dropped it in a bank parking lot. At least she still has her silver ring.

Wednesday I lost my silver ring. At least it wasn't my wedding ring. I normally wear it on my right ring finger, but sometimes it's a little tight and I wear it on my pinkies. Apparently it slid off at either Walmart, Arby's, or Staples. I swung by all three after school, no joy.

I bought the silver rings for us in March '04, then March '05 we bought our gold wedding rings. All the rings are puzzle rings, our wedding rings are four different gold colors and are quite cool. We got them all at the Arizona Renaissance Festival.

I hope your rings turn up. I'd start spraying your cars for Gollums.

We still have ours, probably due to not wearing them much. Neither fits anymore. Mine's too big because I lost weight (from size 14 at wedding to size 8 today) and Bill's ring is too small because he's gained a bit.

Whoo. [livejournal.com profile] ritzar12 lost his wedding band that was made by a custom jeweler whose work we adore. Fortunately she was able to make a replacement. Hopefully Russet's will reappear in the depths of the car.

My friend Bear lost his wedding ring at a restaurant, the problem was that they were not only custom made, but the maker destroyed the molds.

omg, my dad lost three different wedding rings him and mum bought together. She just finally gave up and they don't wear anything, hee.

I've worried about that, too, as my wedding ring is actually a bit loose on my hand. That's part of why I tend to take it off when I'm working out or doing repair work around the house. I'd hate to feel a slight slipping sensation followed by the faintest of clink's and catch just a flash as it goes down the drain or into the port where I pour the oil for my car....

I hope y'all can find 'em soon. Beyond the sentimental value, they sound like really sweet rings.

Oh, sadness! Losing jewelry of sentimental value... it's like losing a piece of yourself. I hope something turns up. (If not, the RenFaire is in town at the moment...!)

And we'll be there next weekend! Pleasure Feast with Rich & Karyn, et al.

We're talking about maybe a Chino's thing next Saturday, I don't know what the end result will be.

Michelle mentioned a possible get-together when we crossed paths online. Chinos will probably not see me again, though, considering how extremely sick it made me last time! Something else -- let me know.

That is the suck. Some friends of ours had theirs stolen the day of the wedding so they ran out and bought a cheapo titanium set from a body mod place. After that, they came across another set they liked so they bought it and it sort of turned into a collection of mostly cheap, silly (rubber gaskets, even!) weird ones. They co-ordinate which rings they're going to wear together every couple of days or so. You could start a collection from ren-faires, one for each year!

Now THAT is an interesting idea! Unfortunately it may be that my wife won't be able to go to the Ren Fest with me next weekend: one of the guys at the observatory may be taking maternity leave, which means my wife and one other guy will be doubling up shifts.
