Taken From Fresh Air: "In 1965, Robert Moog invented the Moog synthesizer, an electronic keyboard that creates otherworldly sounding electronic music. His instrument went on to usher in a new era of rock and electronic music. The Beatles used a Moog synthesizer on their 1969 Abbey Road album.

Moog also had a lifelong interest in the Theremin, a Russian musical instrument also known for its eerie sounds.

He died Sunday at his home in Asheville, N.C., age 71. He had been suffering from an inoperable brain tumor."

He was truly one of the revolutionaries of the music scene. Their were other synthesizers around when Moog invented the Mini Moog: his was the first that was portable.

CNN Story about his life and death.

Slashdot thread.

NPR Fresh Air radio interview with him. I only caught part of it, it sounded quite interesting and I look forward to hearing the whole thing.

I figure with The Rock, Kate Winslet and Angelina Jolie that even if stinks, it'll still be good for $30mil. I'm so glad I have them all under contract. I'm sure Deborak and MonkeyGirlDiva can cope with their actresses, I'm just not sure if The Rock has enough emotional range to portray me. :-)

The wayne in Control Ought Delete
In this compelling rollercoaster, [livejournal.com profile] thewayne (The Rock) is an ex-hacker with a terrible past. He needs to question [livejournal.com profile] deborak (Kate Winslet) before his former partner, [livejournal.com profile] monkeygirldiva (Angelina Jolie), outwits her. After equipping himself with lots of guns, he blasts into a secret submarine, just as the opening credits finish. Control Ought Delete promises not to be just another movie where people get kicked in the face. It fails to live up to that promise.

I hope all of you now know what phishing schemes are. I received this tonight, and in the heat of hatred that someone appeared to be trying to subvert my PayPal account, I almost clicked on the links. Well, you can't see them in this message, but every link redirected to a web site that was decidedly NOT PayPal. Even the PayPal link at the bottom of the page went to a different server, all of the phishing emails that I have previously seen sent the 'help' link back to the site they were spoofing.

Very clever scheme. Inflame people's emotions that they're about to be screwed, they're more likely to be thinking less rationally and may fall for your scam.

I forwarded the email to spoof@paypal.com, I trust the phishing site will be shut down soon.
