They've remade Sleuth!
Oct. 24th, 2007 06:00 amThe original film was made in '72 and starred Sir Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine. This time, it's being made by Kenneth Branagh and Michael Caine is the cuckold with Jude Law as the usurper! It is based on a play that made a fantastic transition to screen, it's sort of a drawing room piece where the cuckold is fantastically wealthy and the usurper doesn't have two pennies to rub together but is stealing the other man's wife.
It's a game of wits and an excellent one at that. The new version apparently is appearing in limited release in the US right now after having opened in Spain on the 11th. I think it's massively cool that they got Caine back, only now in the other role.
HIGHLY recommended. Trailers are up on Apple.com.
