"I just have to rely on the good judgment of the voters not to buy into these negative attack ads. Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you don't have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it."
-- John McCain, 2000

I guess it's a question of how good your negative attack adds are. If yours aren't good enough to stand up to your opponent's, then you take the "moral high ground", if a politician can claim such, and criticize them as negative attack adds. If they have a good chance of being effective, then you just run with 'em.

You have a stack of like 10 pins, a solenoid behind the pin goes THWACK! and pokes a ribbon which forms a dot on the paper. By moving this print head back and forth across the paper and controlling when the solenoids fire, you form letters and images.

Now, envision the print head going all across the width of your paper. OK?

Now, replace the paper with air, and the print head with water pumps.

This video under the cut shows exactly that.

They can print anything by controlling how they time dozens of valves going across the width of this frame, forming falling letters and graphics.

It is ALL KINDS of awesome! If you mute your sound, it's like watching an acetate screen with printing on it scroll by.
