*sigh*
Drove down Monday night, Tuesday I started running a fever. I'm now taking two antibiotics at the same time, fortunately x-ray says no pneumonia.
This morning I'm using my laptop, it's working flawlessly. I close it up, take a shower. Come back to my laptop: it's a brick, totally dead. Won't boot. PRAM reset doesn't work. Take it to the Apple store: turns out it has a bad Nvidia chip that they've known about for 2 years, it just hasn't been a problem. At least it hasn't been a problem until today.
So no laptop, which means it's hard to work since it had the VPN configuration that I needed to connect to work, which means my paycheck next week is going to be mighty thin.
At least I'm feeling somewhat better, and tomorrow is the annual Japanese festival downtown, so that should be fun.
The worst thing about losing my laptop is that I needed to do some work on it to do game tests next week. I can't print stuff because everything was on it. That's going to be inconvenient, I don't want to commit to the demos/tests in case I don't get it back, so it looks like that part of the trip might be a loss.
