Back at the end of February we brought you the press release announcing that Shout! Factory had licensed two shows from Warner Home Video, for Shout! to produce and release on DVD. At the time, trade journal Home Media Magazine reported that the first of the two titles, Max Headroom - The Complete Series, would be available on August 10th. Today Amazon.com added a pre-order listing for the title, confirming that release date and showing off the package art for it (seen below). Shout!'s producer for this title, Brian Ward, had been hinting to his Twitter followers that one of his upcoming releases would have lenticular packaging, and Amazon's entry DOES mention a lenticular cover for this release.
Cost for this 5-DVD set will be $49.97, but you can pre-order it right away and lock in your copy at a discount. Brian Ward has stated at the Shout! Factory message board that English closed captions will be included. He's also hinted there and on Twitter at some fabulous bonus material, including roundtables and interviews with cast members of the show! In fact, he tweeted this picture last Thursday, teasing fans about the shoots he is doing for the extras. He indicates it will be a long list of supplements, but he's not going to be the one to disclose them...Shout!'s publicity team will do that when they're ready.
