I was working on my laptop doing web and game work when I heard a noise in the kitchen and the subsequent scurrying of a 50lb quadraped trying to get traction on the kitchen floor. Soon after followed crunching sounds.

But the thief didn't get away clean!







It's not easy getting focus lock on black dogs!

Mine have taken to eating the peaches that fall to the ground. The birds have been busy. I looks like I'm not going to get any peaches off the tree this year. It's realy fun trying to get peach pits out of a dog's mouth.

Don't peach pits contain arsenic or cyanide or something? Obviously not in quantities to be fatal, but I wonder if they might be dangerous to smaller dogs. With our poodle at 50 lbs, not too many worries there. She can handle small quantities of chocolate without problem, we don't give it to her, but she's been known to steal it.

They contain strychnine. That's why we have to pull them out of the dogs mouths. I mean even when you think you've cleaned up all the fallen fruit, they'll find some somewhere.

Careful with the chocolate. I remember when I worked at the veterinary center. We had a dalmation come in that had eaten an entire bag of Hershey's kisses. We had to give her an emetic and laxatives. That was a mess to clean up. Ugh.

Ah, strychnine. I couldn't recall what it was.

We are pretty careful with the chocolate. My wife is a chocoholic, I'm indifferent. So we have varying amounts of chocolate in the house, and on rare occasion she gets them. We normally don't have something like a bag of Kisses lying about.

LOL. She's pretty picky, she likes things like Vahlrona. In fact, I'll probably be picking up some for her this weekend in Las Cruces.
