I liked it. It was a fresh take on Supes and Singer pulled it off well. I guess I sorta forgive him being yanked from X3 to take care of the Big Blue Boyscout. Spacey was wonderful as Lex, and I rather liked the woman who played Lois Lane because she was attractive, but not "stop a man dead in his tracks to look" gorgeous.

I thought the story was pretty clever and would have liked to have seen it explored a bit further, but it was already a long movie. Maybe they'll have a four hour version when the DVD comes out.

Anyway, like I said, quite liked it. Recommended.

I would like to say that was Singer's touch. As much trouble as they had trying to screw up Superman as much as possible, it's almost a miracle that they got a pretty good movie to the screen. Even Luthor's squeeze isn't drop-dead gorgeous.

But they have a VERY long way to go if the movie is going to be profitable, assuming Warner applies the $250 mil that they spent over the years developing this directly to the movie. It'll have to do at least half a mil to recover costs before it begins approaching profitability.
