Perhaps this isn't as much of a drop-kick/see it because it's Pixar as previous Pixar titles have been. Well, ignore that and go see it. The animation is the normal Pixar best of industry fantastic. The script is the normal Pixar better than most at animated screen writing quality. The talent was great, it was cool hearing Cheech Marin in his role.

But I should talk about the movie.

It's really, really good. The people who made it are serious gear heads. They paid amazing attention to detail, not that you'd expect much less from Pixar. I particularly liked the way a certain Porsche moved in the film: I could look at it and say "that's exactly how a Porsche moves."

I admit that, prior to seeing it, I was turned off by the overall theme. I'm not a Nascar fan, and I'm increasingly less of a fan of "turn left" racing. I like the "Formula" series where you see variety in tracks and can know that driver skill has a lot to do with victory. So that was a negative factor for me seeing this film. Well, we saw it anyway. And it was good.

And I shall give it the ringing endorsement and my highest accolade that I will be planning to buy it on DVD when it becomes available.
