Teens in Utah march to defend polygamy
Aug. 20th, 2006 01:26 amI have no problem with polygamy with two provisos. First, the women should be able to have multiple husbands. Second, there should be enough financial standing in the family to support all members to a comfortable standard WITHOUT gov't handouts. There's a polygamist Morman sect in Northern Arizona that seems to have been set up to create a fiefdom and to swindle economic benefits from the State coffers. I haven't been following the story since I moved, last I heard was the State de-certified the law enforcement of the community and put in their own police force along with a special investigation to look into the fraud allegations.

I have a problem with any "arranged" marriages. The prob isn't just the SW, that's for sure (I lived in Phoenix until last August). I should have also added "assuming the woman is of an age of consent".
