Lots happening: new job, girlfriend's dad with massive cancer. Lots of traveling, little time to write. Lots of photos to download and edit. And no time for a decent post right now. SO, to fill in the time, here's a Phoenix musician with some interesting stuff.

Don Alejandro is a performer at the Arizona/Apache Junction Renaissance Festival. His other musical pursuit, girl punk, as seen at Spaz Kitty. They have a really cool rendition of Ramone's I Wanna Be Sedated.

Both sites have plenty of MP3 goodness. Even as I speak they are downloading to my MP3 jukebox.

So have fun, and be safe out there. I'm off to San Diego for the weekend as one of my fav Mexican food joints is closing down, last weekend was a trip to Las Cruces for my dad's sister's 60th anniversary along with a day trip to Cloudcroft. More on all that later.

The musical links were interesting. I'd love to hear a full-on honkeytonk version of Sedated, as the first verse Spaz Kitty does shows great potential for the country-coverability of that song.

Don Alejandro has a wonderful voice. I'm not much on the lost-tru-wuv flavor of Renaissance/Spanish guitar songs, but he does what he does quite well. And his Elvis cover - fantastic!

I don't know if my MP3 player is developing problems or if Don Alejandro used a strange sampling frequency or something, but of all the songs off the two web sites the only ones that my player can play are Spaz Kitty's Doctor and Supervillain. I definitely like the latter.

He seems to be a nice guy, Michelle met him through Yahoo Personals. Grit Kitty is playing at Alice Cooper's Town next Friday night, we might go see them.
