Yep, pretty much true. Your mom had a pretty good time up here, we had lunch in Cloudcroft at a newish place called Jamocha Bean, great sandwiches and free WiFi. She said she kinda wish she'd brought her 4WD, but her car was handling the mud pretty well. I don't know exactly how soggy it is by her place, but there are definitely places that are becoming mud boggs. That's not a problem where we're at, we're high and angular enough that all the water runs off quite well.
Glad y'all got to meet and hang out for awhile. I know she's always liked getting to get up to CC. Some of the roads up to her place can get pretty damn muddy, so I can see why she'd have wished for the 4WD. It sounds like you're pretty lucky to not have to deal with that.
It also sounded like she really enjoyed getting to meet and hang out with you for awhile. I'm glad that worked out. Next time I'm in your neck of the woods, I'd hope to be able to do the same.
