Well, I finally got signed up at work tonight, so I guess I'll have to start writing. :-) My wife is signed up as Quasar273 (big surprise there), my author name is Cloudster47. I don't know what was happening, I could not register from home. From work, no problem. And I seem to be able to do anything on their site today from home without issue. I guess I'll chalk it up to heavy server load.
One thing that I DO NOT like about their site: Flash. Yes, Flash can be very pretty, but I just don't like it. Give me plain HTML!
Currently I've buddied Russet, Shep, Maegwin, and MH Bonham. I know there are a couple more friends out there who are doing it, but I don't remember who they are. Hopefully they'll remind me....
I feel a little intimidated, but I think it'll be good to be writing under a deadline. And like they say, once you get past your first five chapters, it's smooth sailing. Problem is, I don't think I'll be writing in a chapter format, I think each story will probably be a chapter in and of itself. So five chapters might be the whole damn thing.
In other news, I think I'm finally rested/recovered from last weekend's trip. I will normally wake up 7.5 hours after going to sleep, and today I did that. I was really dragging the last two days. And in sucky news, my laptop is acting up again. I'm considering an OS reinstall, but I really think it's a hardware issue. I don't want to send it back to the twits who worked on it last time, but the alternative is a $600+ replacement ($600 for a IBM/Lenova P4, x3+ for an Apple) and popping $600 on new hardware just ain't in the cards right now.

Date: 2006-11-01 06:57 pm (UTC)A collection of short stories is perfectly acceptable, they're rather flexible on what you write. The whole objective is to get you writing.
