Last week our server crashed and burned rather badly, and we spent three full days without our primary data source OR a way for our computers to talk with one another. (Weirdly, the network worked while the server was still present... but off... but the moment they took it away, the network was gone.)
I work for a photography studio. This was bad juju.
So anyway, we got the new setup Tuesday afternoon and have been spending much of the last two days trying to catch up and, once again, setting our computers the way we want them. (They were all reset with a new network setup so a similar incident won't stop us dead.)
And we're finding all sorts of little problems. Kari's Adobe Gamma stopped working for no apparent reason today (and won't transfer from another computer, either), so she can't color-correct. (She sets her monitor every morning to match what the printer prints so that she doesn't have to interrupt the print schedule to do tests.) I'm having to reset EVERY SINGLE WINDOW to read in Details mode rather than thumbnails... I can't find a global setting for that. Is there one?
