New Terry Pratchett!
Nov. 21st, 2006 11:28 pmHe's released another young adult book, #3 in the Tiffany Aching/Wee Free Folk line. It came out in October, but I didn't know of it tonight until I was in Border's and realized that it had been a while since I've seen any new Pratchett, so I plugged his name into their lookup computer, and now I have a new book to read! (as if I need any additional distractions on my NaNoWriMo writing...)
No review, I just got it three hours ago. It begins in medias res, which I'm not too keen on in books, but I trust Pratchett and he carries it off well.
Anyway, *SQUEEE!* And to my darling wife, THANKS! ;-)

Date: 2006-11-23 06:52 am (UTC)Last Christmas, my mother gave me Where's My Cow? The fun part is that I'd already given a copy as a gift and had rejected getting one for HER, because she'd probably already have it.
And in my family, buying things for oneself after Thanksgiving just Is Not Done, unless it's something that someone else is unlikely to get you as a present. So for me, I can buy paperbacks but not gifty hardbacks. On the other hand, when I do the used book round, anything is fair game. I managed to pick up the Sandman Book of Dreams a couple years back for eight bucks in pristine hardbound.

Date: 2006-11-23 08:28 am (UTC)Congrats on the Sandman! I got a couple of cool things tonight: Gaiman's Anansi is out in paperback, and I FINALLY found a Ditty Bops CD! Very fun listening to it on the way home, as soon as I reboot my laptop I'm going to be ripping it to MP3.
