I didn't know that Anthony Bourdain worked for the Food Network. I've seen his show on the Travel Channel, but I usually avoid it (it's a bit too self-indulgent for my tastes).

He did a travel show where he went around Europe etc. and ate at local places, went to places of his childhood, etc. It was sometimes pretty boring, but occasionally it was interesting.

I really like his point, though, about the evening shows (with the exception of Emeril and Alton) not teaching cooking, just being competitions and "about" food.
