All very, very true. It's nice to be able to set 'em down to enjoy the movie, but it's also important to bear in mind just what they're doing in that presentation.
Regarding #9, have you ever seen a movie that adheres rigidly to the idea that sound doesn't travel in space? I have. 2001: A Space Odyssey. Interesting as an experiment, but not nearly as dramatic as having sound effects (or a musical score that simulates sound effects).
