EPA Mileage Estimates Get Revised!
May. 15th, 2007 08:48 pmThe Prius gets whacked down to about 45mpg. I'm happy because my 4WD Matrix comes in quite competatively at 27MPG overall.

EDIT: I'm getting 29.0 currently over the life of my car, picked up from the dealership 11/05. It now has 43,000 miles on it.

Date: 2007-05-16 01:05 pm (UTC)People have known since the first Prius hit the road that the mileage claim was overstated because the EPA testing didn't accurately reflect (a) real-world driving and (b) how the new tech works. However, it is documented fact that the EPA has changed their testing procedures starting with the 2008 model year and as a result, the mileage estimate for the Prius and several others becomes much more realistic.
So how is this bogus?
