On my MacBook I now have running, through Parallels, Windows XP Pro and Microsoft SQL Server 2005! All fully patched! I now need to get Office, Photoshop, and GoLive running so that I can take those duties away from my not-quite-dead-yet Thinkpad. Unfortunately I can't find the spec page that gives me the FTP login info for the site that I'm maintaining, so I might have to keep the Thinkpad around for FTP duties.

How do you like Parallels? I'm just running plain ol' Boot Camp.

You have to make sure you get the update. I started this process once before, and I had problems with the image hanging and then corrupting. So far, it's been perfectly stable, and I like it. I need to work through the manual as I'm sure that I'm missing some things, but I've been able to do everything that I've needed without touching the manual, so that's cool.

You can download it for eval for free, I don't know how long that's good for. And they've got a new version coming out in the near future, possibly next month, and it will provide 3D graphics, so that's pretty cool. I think I'm probably going to buy the upgrade to the next version, but I won't install it for a little while yet.

One thing that's pretty cool: the integration of the CD drive, USB ports, etc. is very seamless, as is "mounting" shared folders. In the next version, apparently, you can access the entire Mac HD from the virtual engine!
