I really enjoyed shopping there. It's been a couple of years since I've been in one, but that's because there aren't any near here. The sad thing is, that by going to strictly an emodel, I'm less likely to buy from them. When I buy things online, I'm usually looking for a specific item and am not likely to browse.

In fact, I think the Discovery store in Scottsdale (AZ) was originally a Nature Co. store. We used to have some Warner stores in the Phx area, but those went away long ago. I think that stores suffer from perceived brand loyalty inflation (PBLI) and believe "if we build it, they will come." But then the merchandise is so expensive because they believe that because of the PBLI index that people will pay premium prices for their stuff. It worked somewhat for Disney, but only because Disney has succeeded in brain-washing multiple generations of children-cum-adults. And even at that, Disney has had to close several retail locations.

Yeah, Discovery Channel took over all of the Nature Company stores, which would have been less annoying had they kept around a lot of the nature items. Instead, they went for the science-themed Sharper Image style and I stopped going.
