I really want to do this, but the best way is to convert a DSLR by having the IR bypass removed, turning it into an IR-only camera. That might be viable in a couple of years. You can shoot with an unmodified digital camera with a $50 filter and get good results, unfortunately my main lens is kinda old and doesn't have a good lens coating for IR work: I get a bright spot in the center of my lens.
