I just bought a Seagate FreeAgent external hard drive. 500 gig. For $140.

I believe the price is good through Saturday, but I don't know for certain. It's USB2, no FireWire, but it will work with Mac after you reformat the drive.

That is a smokin' deal, especially from Best Buy (Fry's is usually the only one who has sales THAT good!). Unfortunately I can't even afford a bottle water right now...

Bummer, but I definitely know where you're coming from. Let's just say that for the last two weeks I've eaten a lot of cans of tuna and saltine crackers. :-)

I just hope my desktop is good when I get home: it popped the power supply a couple of weeks ago and I don't know if the drives are intact. At least now I have a means of backing it up fairly quickly.
