NBC's "To Catch A Predator" severely flawed!

They are PAYING policemen and this group of activists to film them. Most of these cases have been thrown out of court, and in one case, an alleged molester KILLED HIMSELF when police raided his house after Dateline got them to perform the raid when he didn't show up for his rendezvous with the "14 year old girl".

The activists, posing as 14 y/o's in chat rooms, are frequently soliciting sex rather than waiting to be solicited.

I find programs of this sort utterly reprehensible.

Agreed. Law enforcement is the job of law enforcement professionals, i.e., the police, at whatever skill level that they possess. I don't have a problem with TV news revealing shady car repairs or things like that, but shoddy investigation and entrapment destroys lives and they already have one death of a person who was never accused, much less convicted, of a crime.

Maybe I need to rent Network, sadly, it's pretty much accurate now.
