Interesting to hear how Serkis approaches his work, especially since mocap and effects shots these days are still done mostly on blue/green screens with almost nothing there to interact with that looks like the finished product.

I think that's what makes the difference between LotR and Star Wars I-III.

Yeah. Having something there, even if it's a guy in a suit, gets the actors to be able to train their eyes on the right points and do actual interaction with the character that's supposedly right next to them.

I wonder how the Beowulf movie is going to turn out, considering it's CG of actors' bodies and voices put together. From the previews, it looks fairly unnatural. Maybe it will get better.
