No one was hurt, but it could have easily ended in blood. They've caught the perp, and he's facing some pretty stiff charges. Of course, there's the security hole exploit that let him get into the system and doing what he did, but there are other ways he could have alerted authorities to the problem.

I don't know why someone would do something like that. In that case, there could have been people killed. And that would have been very bad for the person who sent the false alarm.

Not very encouraging that the emergency response system got hacked, either.

That, too. I wonder how he got in - maybe there's some sort of Internet app running that shows people the presence of fire trucks or something?
