I'd be happy that the corporate guys figured out a clever advertising hook that might increase sales enough to ensure that the plant where I work stays in business. After all, I'm not losing my discount and there's a better chance that by next year I'll still be working there (and thus still have my discount available) than this special sale will still be available to the ordinary customer.

You're getting to stressed out about all this. You should concentrate on the important issues, like what the difference is between Diet Coke and Coke Zero.
