thewaynebut I do have some military connections.
My brother-in-law, Brian, is currently serving in Afghanistan. He was originally going to be some sort of liason between military units and civilians, he's now a grenade carrier. They are desperately bored while at base and we're getting ready to send him a 'care' package of sorts including a set of Mexican Train dominos. I'm going to slide a copy of a couple of my games in there along with dice and other stuff.
My dad's only brother was killed in the Pacific Theater in WW II. He was on Guam or Iwo, I don't recall which, and working on the electric works when someone switched on the circuit that he was repairing. Even more tragic than his death, I heard the other day that it was a friend who energized the circuit. I can't imagine how bad that would make you feel.
I've had numerous uncles serve in WW II and one or two in Vietnam, fortunately all, AFAIK, made it home in one piece. My heart goes out to those who were not so fortunate.
