A web site, RateMyCop.com, was silenced by GoDaddy with no adequate explanation. The site allows people to post photos and videos of uniformed police officers performing public duties and the posters can rate them and comment on what they saw. The officers can also post responses, and they don't store home address information or anything on undercover officers. Sounds pretty straight forward to me.

Well, apparently some people think otherwise and complained to GoDaddy, who yanked the connection with no notification.

It will be interesting to see how this develops.

Myself, I terminated my relationship with GoDaddy last year. I had all of my domains registered through them, but after they did the exact same thing to other sites (and also surrendered supposedly private registration information without a court order), I decided they were getting no more of my business.

If you're considering new domain registration or hosting services, I'd be happy to discuss my experiences with you.

GoDaddy aka BlowDaddy. I've heard nothing but bad about them, which is a shame as I know someone who works there.

You and me both. Joe has my sympathies, they're definitely a company that I would have problems working for. But when you need a job, you need a job.

Who are you currently using, if you don't mind posting it?

I may be in the market to finally set up a professional webpage sometime this year, and am starting to look around for options.
